Japanese Indigo Chrysanthemum Bandana

Style No. BN53IN

Made in Japan

This bandana is made with Banshu-ori, a traditional woven fabric from Hyogo, Japan with over 230 years of history. Woven from 100% cotton, it is softer and more absorbent than typical bandana cloth, offering a unique texture and comfort.

The fabric is dyed with natural indigo by a denim company in Hiroshima founded in 1893. Its floral pattern is created using a traditional discharge dyeing method, where color is carefully removed by hand with a stencil. Both the discharge dyeing and sewing are done by a family-run textile workshop in Tochigi, established in 1886.

The chrysanthemum motif is inspired by centuries-old kimono patterns, reimagined in a modern style by Junichi Kobashi. Because it is dyed with natural indigo, you can also enjoy the beautiful aging and character that develop over time.

Comes with a Japanese wax paper envelope.
