This is a silver-plated necklace made from 1.4mm brass wire, oval chain.

It is made from 100% brass and coated with a thick 10-micron layer of real, nickel-free silver. A stone-washed finish gives it a soft shine and a vintage look, like an old chain.

The clasp features a solid brass S-shaped hook, made using traditional sand casting. Each piece is individually handmade, giving it a unique character. It is produced by a long-established maker of metal fittings, operating since the early 1900s. Each piece is individually engraved with “Kobashi” in Japanese katakana.

This chain is designed to be worn on its own, and the S-shaped hook is designed as both a clasp and part of the overall design. It can be worn at the side, allowing the brass hook to act as an accent and add character to the chain. The standard clasp is solid brass, with a silver-plated option also available.

Because it is coated with real silver, you can clean it with a silver polishing cloth. Over time, it will develop the natural patina of real silver, which can be maintained with regular care. To keep its condition, we recommend removing it before showering or swimming. You can also order it in a length other than the standard 60 cm.

Each item comes with a handmade suede pouch made from Japanese tanned pig leather.
